What a great Thanksgiving. Lots of laughs, lots of eating, and lots of dessert. Dessert is a separate category because there was so much of it!
The dinner was a joint effort; my aunt and uncle brought the green bean casserole, fruit tart, and lemon pie. My grandma made her delicious carrot salad, and homemade horseradish. My mom and I spent a few hours in the kitchen laughing and making the rest.
While some of us were doing serious cooking, others were practicing their football skills.
Caught in action – making the vegan gravy, recipe by Mama Pea. It was one of the best I have ever had.
Dinner table ready.
The meal was a little bit of everything including, my grandma’s carrot salad, mom’s eggplant, Russian potato salad, bruessels sprouts, green bean casserole, fruit and nut stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and gravy. Oh yes, and turkey. Two of them, actually. Everyone was starving by the time dinner was ready.
Dessert is served! There was a lemon pie/tart, a fruit tart, an apple-cranberry pie, and if that wasn’t enough, there were cream puffs. Oh my, we were all stuffed.
I didn’t get a good photo of the whole family, but here is Eric and I taking a little breather outside.
I haven’t exercised in the past two days, unless you consider walking laps around the mall at 6 am, exercise. Not to mention that those leftovers got the best of me! I am definitely looking forward to my run tomorrow morning.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
